“backstory”. it will be about her backstory. was she an 80’s music star who sold her mortal life for fame in a deal that backfired on her?? or was she a woman with the gift about to be hanged by the hatchet men who saved herself by making that same deal?? HOW FAR BACK DOES THIS GO IS WHAT IM ASKING WE KNOW FUCK ALL ABOUT THIS WOMAN

if it’s the former, I would love to maybe have mariah as casey (the girl with the gift in the witchwood who asked for her autograph) be an actual character who holloway maybe tries to help. also kim singing 80’s songs fuck yeah

and if it’s the latter then,,, oh wow. some heavy musical numbers, a shitload of hatchetmen / church of the starry children lore, and maybe another form of the lords in black (maybe the creepy hooded figures that we see drawn in the black book???)

I would love to see this scene on stage with kim!!!! this would make 5 different forms of the LIB that we’ve seen / heard about (dolls, teens / humans, their true forms, wiggly in made in america, and whatever this is). I’m just imagining you see these black hooded figures, and then in the pro-shot you get a good look inside their hoods… and their faces are NOT human. like just imagine a massive purple eye staring out of one of those hoods, maybe even moving and blinking, a cool animatronic thing. SO CREEPY!! I also love the idea of switching up the actors again - I love jon so much as wiggly and I don’t think they would change him bc of his voice, but with the rest of them I think any actor can play a LIB which opens up so many possibilities…

I also would love to know how miss holloway met duke, and potentially even how many times they have met and then he had to forget her. considering the fact that we now have weird lore about his dad in 2005, did she know duke when he was younger?? did she help him out when he was a teenager, or help his dad?? is it a family thing, like she’s vowed to watch over the keane family or something??

duke’s dad is a big part of this tbh, because what a random insane lore / backstory drop, like WHAT? I genuinely have no idea what douglas keane sr’s murder could be about, except that it ties in to duke and to wilbur. and shows that 2005 is SO DAMN IMPORTANT

2005 was the year hannah was born, the year the portal to the black and white was created, the year wilbur cross went insane and became a disciple of the LIB, the year miss holloway took on the mantle of “miss holloway”, and (very likely) the year miss holloway and wilbur fought. so i think it’s safe to say that the musical itself will be set in 2005, which to me means macnamara and wilbur backstory alongside holloway and duke, which is very very fun

I like the idea that wilbur and macnamara were canonically together, and I really want to see pre-LIB wilbur. I also love the idea of macnamara and holloway working together or even becoming friends - despite being set a decade and a half before nightmare time, it would feel like the culmination of the two hanging plot threads / overarching arcs to me. also the idea that it was holloway who introduced macnamara to the paranormal and therefore essentially set up PEIP and doomed wiley is some juicy stuff that I would LOVE to see, especially if either macnamara or wiley lived in hatchetfield as kids and miss holloway helped them, inspiring whichever one of them to set up PEIP

ok so leading off of that I have a clear vision of a potential final scene that is driving me insane, and that’s the main reason why I patched together this post.

the final scene is the fight between miss holloway and wilbur, the one that happens in every single timeline.

and the basic idea is that we see both fights at once. there’s a song, and the stage is like black friday and spies are forever, with a level above the stage the actors can walk up to and stand on. joey and kim sing, and do their bit on the stage, but above the stage there are either doubles or a projection, mirroring the choreography. only in the pro-shot version, they would splice in joey and kim playing both pairs, which I just think would turn out looking really awesome despite being tricky to pull off live.

and yeah basically at the exact same time, one wilbur stabs holloway, and the other holloway stabs wilbur, creating a gorgeous visual representation of the newly splintered timelines.

either that or they do a trail to oregon and just do a different ending each night, and then splice them together in the pro-shot like I was saying. but I personally prefer the first one, if they’re able to pull it off and make it look good

and duke shows up just after that, having followed miss holloway throughout the story so far. and in the universe where wilbur’s dead, miss holloway makes him forget it all, hence this being the year that she takes on the new name and the fact that we know he has forgotten about her / her true past before. and then in the universe where holloway is dead, he holds her as she dies in his arms. bonus points if we get dying holloway saying “please don’t forget me” and living holloway saying “you have to forget me”. oh and just to be cruel, both dukes saying “I could never forget you” at the same time :) stew on that for a bit. yeah. fuck you I guess lol I woke up and chose violence today apparently

the idea of the two of them finding each other again after that in some timelines is just gorgeous to me, especially given the fact that NMT3 seems to suggest them finding each other AGAIN after she needs to make him forget. truly star crossed lovers they are so insane for this

in summary I guess what I’m trying to say is I think it will include miss holloway’s full backstory and then be mostly set in 2005, and centre around the opening of the black and white portal (macnamara and wilbur), miss holloway meeting duke (wilbur murdering duke’s dad, possibly something with lex and hannah if duke was already a social worker) and eventually the big fight between holloway and wilbur, ending in the audience seeing both potential endings. also obviously a reference to hannah’s birth because that seemed to be some kind of catalyst. thank you for coming to my utterly deranged ted talk goodbye

You were recently sent out on a mission to survey a certain area in the woods. Nothing too difficult. In fact, it was very simple. Survey, collect data, and then return to the kingdom, and with the light snowfall, it should have been that hard.

Well, the snow used to be light. You don't know what caused such a sudden change, but it was now practically a blizzard. If you didn't retreat to somewhere more warm, you were going to freeze to death!

The only problem is... where would you go? Everything was all forest as far as the eyes could see.

"Feeling cold doll? Looks like you could use some help.." said a voice. You couldn't see who it was through all of the snow, but... you couldn't shake the feeling that you knew them.

"Oh, yeah! Is there anywhere we can go get out of the blizzard..?"

You could hear a subtle chuckle.

"Of course there is." A bright light would flash and you were now in a completely different area.

A nice, warm, and cozy cabin. A fireplace was lit in the corner, but.... you could also now see them.

"Affogato Cookie?" You'd shout in bewilderment as you took a step back.

"Yes. Did you miss me~?" He'd take a step closer to you and take hold of your chin, forcing you to look at him.

Immediately, you swatted away his hand and sent him a glare.

"Do not touch me," you would hiss.

"Fine then. Thank you for saving me," you would say half-heartedly. You were grateful, just a bit on edge since it was Affogato who had saved you.

"So doll, how have you been? Is the king doing well?" He would ask. You only nod your head.

Affogato would swirl around his staff, and a pain would shoot through your body.

You knew exactly what this was. It was the poison he would use on his enemies... but he's improved.

Oh. He was planning something for sure, but... all you could think about was the venom running through your blood.

"Fine! Just cut it out already."

He'd flick his staff once more, and the pain would lessen. Of course, poison cannot be cured so easily.

"The burning sensation will only last for a little while. Anyway, I'm glad we could come to an agreement! Now then, shall we head there now?"

That scowl never left your face, but you would nod your head all the same. It's not like you could take Affogato in a fight anyway.

As Affogato and you walked into the gates of the kingdom, some guards would immediately ready their weapons.

"Prince, what is that traitor doing with you?!" They would ask in a panic.

You took a look at Affogato, who had never looked so calm and collected before.

They looked shocked, but ultimately followed your lead since going against you was like going against the king himself.

You started walking towards the castle, getting scared looks from the normal citizens.

The dizziness from before has also yet to fade.

"This kingdom looks the same as last time.. though, you are looking as darling as ever," Affogato would say with a grin.

"I don't want to hear it from you."

Affogato only hums, not bothering to push much farther.

It did not take long before you had reached the king's chambers.

Dark Cacao noticed Affogago instantly.

"What is he doing here?" Dark Cacao would ask with a booming voice. His blade was already at the ready.

"Ah ah ah, I wouldn't be so hasty to attack. You're little lover here might get hurt,"

Affogato would snicker before waving his staff, and that dark bubble would come back to consume you.

"You-" Dark Cacao would grit his teeth while glaring daggers into Affogato.

"Hand over the kingdom, and I'll stop the curse on him."

Dark Cacao's eyes darkened, and in an instant, he'd dash over to Affogato and strike him.

The blade would barely graze Affogato's shoulder, but it still drew blood. In a panic, Affogato would fall to the ground and start backing away.

"Ah, this isn't how the plan was supposed to turn out-"

Dark Cacao pointed the Swords edge at his neck.

"Stop the spell and leave. Next time you come here, I won't hesitate to take your life," said Dark Cacao.

He laughed nervously before swiftly undoing the curse. He flicked the staff once more again and teleported to who knows where.

Dark Cacao rushed to your side quickly.

"Are you alright?" He'd ask, holding you up.

speaking my truth on npmd because im thinking about this alot. i think the reason it falls flatter than tgwdlm and bf as a musical is that tgwdlm and bf have a running theme — want.

(whole thing undercut)

the cast of tgwdlm want human connection - charlotte wants sam to love her, bill wants alice to love him, mr davidson wants his wife to choke him while he jerks off etc etc, and eventually paul goes from 'i want what anyone wants, money, kids, a partner maybe idk' to - to put it simply - wanting emma (putting it very simply, if i went into detail this post would go off the rails). this switch is what makes him vulnerable to the hive and this want to live and to survive and to be happy with emma is satiated by pokey by giving him the connection he craves via hivemind, this is how it works for everyone. they want to be happy, pokey makes them happy by removing any need to want anything in the first place.

similarly, in bf, the adults of hatchetfield are still miserable and they want to be happy, they have this void within them that they feel they need to fill with products and consumerism. if they buy this stupid fucking doll their kids will love them, they will be happy, etc etc. and this want to be happy is similarly satiated by wiggly via the cult - they have something to worship, or - in lindas case - people who worship them. they have purpose, or at least they think they do, but whether their problems have actually been solved or not - they are still content.

but in npmd, this is less solid. theres that bit where they have to sacrifice what they want the most, but this is near the end. its kind of all over the place, and this wobbliness(?) is sort of just emphasised by the fact that there is no specific lord in black, its all of them. now i loved the summoning when i first watched it because im obviously a huge hatchetfield fan so i like. know who these characters are but as ive seen others say, alot of npmd does rely on knowing hatchetfield lore - understanding injokes. and in hindsight it just... isnt great for the cohesion of the plot.

tgwdlm and bf both have specific themes, specific lords in black, they have subplots but they have a solid throughline that is easier to follow. to me, npmd feels like its all over the place and it just feels kind of...mid for lack of a better word.

i think there were some moments that were just kind jarring? i guess? like if i loved you coming directly after ruths death was really strange, tonally. i wish they spent more time on ruths death tbh she deserved better. richie got two songs and an opening scene. anyways i digress- i feel like whenever i think about it im always like. i just wanted More. which is weird cuz its already like 2 hours long but idk. IDK!!! if i loved definitely felt unnecessary to me- like just conflict out of nowhere. i would have liked more build up to it. maybe im just salty that it took up stagetime that could have been used to grieve ruth but. sorry for the random if i loved you slander i think my point here is that some moments and some subplots felt more tropey, injokey or like fanservice??but not in a sexual way?? - is that the right word to use idk - than actual compelling plot moments. tgwdlm is an incredible work of theatre and uses subversions of tropes to communicate a great story, bf is a detailed criticism of american consumerism and how capitalistic societies force people to rely on products to make their lives better, npmd is. high school drama with ghosts. it just doesnt hit as hard on its own.

i dont want to be one of those "im a better writer, and THIS is how i would have done it!!!! im going to fix this!!!" people so im not going to do that but i think something i would have liked to see was focus on just one lord in black, probably nibbly because i feel like he fits the most and has the least preexisting story. i mean for gods sake, why does wiggly have the most speech time out of all the lords in black again!!! he already has an entire musical about him!!! greedy bitch- well i guess thats kind of his thing. i think i just want to see more of nibbly tbh, he has one nmt story and he only shows up at the very end. anyways that was kind of a side rant sorry gang. there isnt a problem with having a story featuring all the lords in black, but i think it just doesnt quite work in npmd for like structural reasons as well as plot cohesion.

i did enjoy npmd, im not pretending i didnt, but narratively it is the weakest hatchetfield musical and i just wanted to put my finger on what it is specifically. please dont take this as like hate or slander, i am a huge starkid fan, but i think it is important to consume media critically.

also i am not a professional i am a teenage drama and english lit student who likes media analysis and narrative design so just. take everything i say with a grain of salt :)

anyway the story I've got so far is Quya is the elder sister to Kuzco and was originally heir to the throne. Quya was fifteen years old when Kuzco was born (and in my AU, when they lost their mother, Empress Sayri, who Kuzco is a spitting image of <3) and she was eighteen and Kuzco three when their father, Emperor Uqllu, set sail for an overseas trade agreement with a king of India. However, his ship was caught in a horrible storm that sunk it, leaving no survivors.

my story/AU is based heavily off of Kingdom of the Sun, what Emperor's New Groove was going to be before the tone was completely changed. so weeks after their father set sail with a promise to return in a few months (effectively leaving Quya in charge of both her brother and the kingdom with Yzma and the imperial council's help), Kuzco started having nightmares every night.

Now the thing you most need to know about Quya is that she loves her family, especially her baby brother, more than anything in the entire world. And she is reckless and impulsive with her own safety.

Quya had snuck into Yzma's lab before to tinker with her elixirs and stuff, and so she snuck down there in the middle of the night to find something that might help her brother. What she ends up finding is an incantation meant to chanted during a very specific sacrifice to a very specific deity. She uncovers a plot to sacrifice a son of the sun (aka Kuzco) to unleash Supay from his prison beneath the earth.

Quya takes this incantation, fearing for her brother's life, and runs to the temple of Inti. She is seen and chased by Supay conspirators all the way to the temple. She throws the incantation into the fires of Inti, is attacked by conspirators, and (I've actually just changed this a little lol) Inti in his rage turns the conspirators into ash with his flames and turns Quya into gold to protect her.

For the next fifteen years, Quya is believed to be dead, and Kuzco is raised with the ghosts of his family, barely able to remember them.

Until Quya is found during a Chipmunk Scout field trip to the temple of Inti. When she is found, she is turned back into a human, and now has to grapple with the fact that so much time as passed and her baby brother is barely a year younger than she is now. :3

Keep in mind that reader is a child! They will not be the average y/n, she won't try and solve everyone's problems, and they're still learning and growing as a person! (That's what this whole fic is for-)

okokookookkokokokok these aren't all relevant to the Au per say, but this does apply to the plot and some of the lore for the fic.

im sure you saw the post- but I headcanon the skeles to be able to pop out their eyes. and at first it seemed random- but Papyrus has fucking eyes in the game (!?!) and so does sans, so why tf not?

Now a thing that I do not headcannon is their bones being able to pop out. I don't have any reason, I just don't like the idea of their limbs being Legos (but fsr eyes r ok?)

They do have amazing dance moves tho (Sans gets a lil zesty when he does the worm).

Everything in this universe is like a sitcom, and while predictable things happen, it's not in the usual way it would.

Dynamics I'd Like to Explore:

Horror and reader.

I would love to explore that "Mama bear" dynamic that Horror could have without dumbing him down to just "hungry" "traumatized" and "comfort".

I want to show how being in a starvation crisis still affects him, while also wanting someone to take care of.

I think reader would appreciate a person who always makes sure that they eat, because they didn't have that as often in the program they were previously in.

I also really really really want to make Horror very disturbing and unapproachable, so it would make him and reader need their characters to develop for their relationship to actually bloom.

I also wanna see him do odd things, like grinding his teeth to a piercing shriek, or putting things in his skull to remember for later, and reader's reactions and approaches to them.

Sans/Papyrus and reader

Ah yes, they will be a joy to write.

Sans and reader's relationship will come from a place of mutual respect almost? While also blatantly disrespecting each other at the same time???

They dont really do much together, other than chill.

And in the small moments that they actually do things together, they don't actually talk much (in a serious way) at all.

Papyrus and reader start it off rocky a bit, because of the surface level reason for why she was adopted.

Papyrus tries to engage reader in activities that he likes, but every try leads to some kind of avoidance or lack of enthusiasm.

But after having a deep conversation with each other, they become the bestest of friends!

Payarus hypes up reader every chance he gets, and reader makes so many gifts for him that his ego just can't take it!

I feel like the three of them together would be so wholesome, whether it's Sans reading Papyrus and reader a bedtime story, or if they all go shopping together.

There's never a dull moment with these two!

Swapfell gold Sans and Papyrus

LET THEM BE WINE AUNT BESTIES PLESSSSS

LET THEM TALK SHIT ABOUT THEIR BROTHERS WHILE ABSOLUTELY LOVING THEM TO DEATH.

They always walk in the room stunning, Swapfell Sans won't ever let Paps walk in the room with rags while he's there.

Both of them enjoy those live-laugh-love type decorations at hobby lobby, and always decorate the house up like a doll.

They curse without actually cursing and it's so funny.

Mostly a crack dynamic, but that's what this fic is for.

Sans and Papyrus

A lot of this is half-personal and half-out-of-spite-in-the-fandom-because-i-hate-the-way-they-are-sometimes-portrayed-in-fanfiction.

Papyrus calls Sans "lazy" in a lighthearted way instead of actually believing as such. He knows that Sans could do many things, but he won't do them because of his mental health.

I like to think that since Papyrus has such great control over his magic, he's very much patient as well when it comes to people.

Especially Sans, because he of all people needs it the most.

Sans loves his brother, but not to a possessive extent. Yes, he will kill anyone and everyone for the coolest guy on Earth, but not without reason.

They take care of each other as much as they can actually.

They also have more complications other than "just keeping secrets". It's actually communication as a whole.

Something that I will not explain because it's a headcannon and not my story yet👍

Red and Sans

I feel like they'd be assholes together. That's all I need.

They probably make card houses out of boredom, but with packs of condiments.

They hate each other at first, but neither of them want to fight so it's passive aggressive comments between the two.

Imagine two Loona's (helluva boss) in one room. One emotionally stumped and the other too laid-back to do anything about it.

Suddenly the hostility goes away and everyone else is confused.

Very nice.

Fresh and Reader

Okay I admit this one is purely crack.

I need them to go to Chuckie Cheese and make fun of two year olds when they lose a game.

I want them to attack Karens in the parking lot with possessed furbies.

I want Fresh to scare reader with an ominous statement about her soul and go back to living life free.

LOOK INTO MY EYES!!!

I want reader to believe he's not real and only a part of the fever dreams she has since the world changed.

I NEED FRESH TO PLAY ALONG BC HE THINKS ITS FUNNY

Dream and Nightmare.

Most of these headcannons are inspired/from Ano (@/signanothername). So if my brain is rotted no it's not.

Their relationship is...complicated.

At first, they sabotage each other for fun and competition.

But next thing you know! They're full blown fighting, throwing jabs at each other physically and verbally.

Most people like to think that the two fight each other because they represent and protect different and opposite emotions.

But they fight because they are mentally teenagers, who are SIBLINGS<

It's very tiring to experience and be apart of, because you never know what the two will do in a room alone.

Coming from experience, when I would want my sibling to feel something that I was trying to get through to them, I would say something that hurts. Like really bad.

Dream and Nightmare remind each other of their past mistakes with aggressive and ingenuine kindness when no one's looking.

While Dream isn't an asshole per say, he just has a hard time keeping himself in check around Nightmare. Other than that he's the kindest soul.

Nightmare is an asshole, but he doesn't make any move to "confront" Dream or make a meaningful conversation with him. He still has regrets and animosities from the past, but won't intentionally heal from that.

^^These all will contribute to main plot and subplot. Nothing will be completely resolved, but each relationship will be expressed with more realistic situations rather than "they feel this way because everyone else says so." (cough cough fandom cough cough)

Every other dynamic like Reader and Gaster, or Star/Bad Sanses will be explored as well- those are just the main ones I'm excited for. Of course, I cant fit them all in (because it'll just be run-on words with no actual plot), but I can try to give everyone a situation where they can interact with each other.

Unfortunately, Swapfell Gold won't be in this story at all- only Horrortale and Underfell and the usual multiverse deities. I may not be able to fit them in one fic, but I can make side content and my own fanart to satisfy myself. (WHY WONT MY BLORBOS FIT IN!!!)

Sans

Sans actually does sleep in my au, probably too much really. He uses it as a means of escape because it's hard for him to come to terms with "no more resets"

Frisk isn't the same anymore, and throughout the story he'll get more and more paranoid.

Sans will trip Gaster any chance that he's given.

I like to headcannon that Sans doesn't have an obsession with ketchup, and it's moreso "gasp! the ketchup guy!" type thing. I also like to believe that the only reason why he can drink so much ketchup like that is because of people's reactions.

Sans is a comedian at heart, so he will do/say most things that people consider outrageous; hence the ketchup thing.

I like to think that he only pursued physics because of his dad, rather than mathematics like he initially wanted to do.

Sans hates slime and the grease it leaves on his phalanges as well as the sound it gives off.

He'd probably bring ketchup popsicles to the function.

Papyrus

Imagine that he can 'port' as well, leaving Gaster the only one who cannot. He just doesn't do it because the "void" makes him uncomfortable.

You could call him the "emotionally intelligent one" despite him not understanding a goddamn thing. He's just good at solving problems with patience.

He can see how someone feels, but he won't use that to read the room and understand what to do and what not to do.

He doesn't understand some social rules, like "comparing yourself to others for competition" and "tips for a cup of coffee"

It's confusing he thinks. Which can also lead him to misreading someone's emotions.

If you open up his closet there's a trick wall in it. And behind it, there's a dart board with Gaster's face on it. He's still mad at him, but won't let it show as to keep the family as peaceful as possible.

Sometimes when he's out with Sans, Papyrus would grab him and hold him under his arm and just carry him like that.

He is actually a pretty decent cook. And Sans doesn't lie to him about that.

Gaster

He actually falls when Sans trips him. It's funny as hell.

Since we don't know much about Gaster, this personality is kind of all over the place.

As I've stated before, he is morally ambiguous, and is comfortable with justifying things that seem wrong to most people.

Like cutting holes in his hands to get children instead of getting a wife.

On the other hand, he finds most arguments that humans have tedious, annoying, and easily solvable.

Or testing on a subject's soul who's figured out how to reset time itself instead of asking various questions.

He probably takes the top off of muffins and puts them back in just to spite Sans.

He loves his sons, but doesn't have a way to show them without making them feel awkward.

Despite him being open minded on human affairs, he can be very closed-minded when it comes to new things like routine, emotional intelligence, and boundaries.

Reader

Reader believes that the only reason why she was adopted is because Sans wasn't okay. Like she was supposed to "fix" him in some way, and kind of resents Papyrus because of that.

She's just a kid! How are they gonna help a stinky blob of depression?

Otherwise, it's probably the best they've ever lived.

When there's chaos, reader will remind Sans how "good" they're being and expect a reward when it's over.

She stims by rubbing her knuckles vertically across the joint of her arm (like me, tehe), and picks at her hangnails when she's under stress (also like me).

Granted, she doesn't remember memories from when her parents were alive, but right now she feels like she's in a place where she belongs. Like people actually want them.

Reader grew up in a place where they were older than everyone else, so they were immediately dubbed "older sibling".

Despite the wholesome sentiment, the way those kids would treat her would be toxic, but a small part of her still misses them.

Cannot match clothes to save her life (she walks out the door looking horrendous AFTER Papyrus gave her an outfit-)

She's fine with it though, "No aesthetic can fit me anyway."

I know I was trashing on the "fandom", but do know that whatever opinion you have is fine with me. I couldn't stop thinking since your post about wxs parents, or more specifically the tenma parents, bc they actually interest me a lot

Because like, the tenma mom DOES actually come up sometimes in saki and tsukasa's side stories and an area conversation. And not just the fact she taught them to play piano, i mean more familial situations. She even appears by herself and it's usually when they're at the house and she seems really sweet and caring actually

And also whenever Tsukasa brings her up (which he seems to do more often than Saki? Or at least from the stories I've read, i might be wrong) he speaks of her in a way that seems quite fond and might imply that she is around at the house at least usually

In contrast, though, the tenma dad almost NEVER comes up. Like the only time I remember him being mentioned (that is NOT about tsukasa bringing up That Show they watched as kids or the family visiting saki at the hospital bc that's obvious they're there) was once in the hinamatsuri event about how he bought the doll stand and some helmet when they were little? smth about how he impulse buys things

And that was it. He didnt even appear

He's never actually appeared by himself at the house or any side story to my knowledge (do correct me if I'm wrong) and he doesn't SEEM to be around the house on a daily basis at all

Even in the past when tsukasa stayed at home alone it was tenmama he got calls from, at least the one they showed us

Tenpapa's job is also never mentioned unlike tenmama's. And like tenmas are implied to be at least somehow recognisable or respected of a family, or at the very least by people like the Aoyagis since they are always stated to hold them in such regard, but is it just about tenmama playing the piano? Or maybe there's smth more about the dad that we don't know?

He's just. Such an enigma. We barely have any crumbs. Even in that image of baby tenmas seeing a show for the first time from the beginning of wxs main story shows a little bit of tenmama, like we can see her hair and all, but we can only see tenpapa's hand

It's just... where is he?? At work? What does he do?? Why don't they talk about him that much??? Why won't they show him in side stories??? Am I reading too much into it???

They never say anything bad about the dad either if they ever do. They seem like good parents overall. The whole tsks neglect thing, yes, of course it wasn't a good decision to leave him alone at home, but it doesn't make them bad. Tsukasa never even mentioned anything that could imply he holds it against them and ik he is stupidly forgiving sometimes and sometimes forgets about himself but still. You get me. Besides we don't really know the extent of it all so shsuhd

From one of your newer but still old videos, you mentioned that you're oc world lives rent-free in your head, and that made me relate to you alot my world is always getting built in my head and one I started written my Ocs storys not in a lore format but more in a story way as if i was writing a book it just seemed to help me place everything together and was curious if you tried or do write storys with you're ocs while most people on here dont like reading Oc stuff if you did ever write something and shared it on here id jump to be the first to read it. (My apologies for all the asks I spend to much time on here...haha.) As an Oc ask im way to invested in learning your Ocs lore well more like world lore from that one video I mentioned earlier Id always been way to eager to know more about the complicated Oc universe so as an actual ask to not waste your time hows Seren's universe set up hes an Incubus/Succubus so that must mean his universe has some sort of hell given he's friends with Rouge (From your pinterest post I think Seren being a sore loser is hilarious.) And from your All of my god ocs plus any one who Relevent video Alodias and Celeste are the first incubus and Angel made so does that mean the god ocs are connected to Serens universe and seeing from the fact Fern and Seren play with there kids dolls and are friends and fern and her husband are hybrids? (Ferns a bunny?...and her husbands a Wolf.) it just makes me curious because that means the universe is filled with alsorts of creatures and then if the god ocs are connected to it, it just seems like a very interesting world and seems very creative and I love it! (Sorry for such a long post...I cant help but abuse the ask button, ill try my best to keep in check!)

So i’m gonna try to make this as simple as I can manage to

basicallyyyy I have different oc universes that all kind of coexist at the same time next to each other while being separate from one another

I’ve categorized them in my head kind of like this;

- god realms (not technically a universe but the gods and all the creatures in their realms know of and can interact with all the other universes)

- serenverse (unofficial name lol): basically just base level stuff, kind of just regular earth with more mystical creatures in it (like succubi/incubi, hybrids, etc) this is the universe most of my ocs kind of get automatically shuffled into if they don’t fit into the specific niche of my other universes in my brain ☝️

- fantasy universe: the universe where all the damn whimsy is. Kings, queens, princes, princesses, mystical/magical creatures are entirely the norm, it’s not like regular earth at all- it’s completely disconnected from anything like that. This is where my ocs like Sephtis, Carlin, Cassiopeia, Lunarus, Reef, Ezekiel, Pluto, Florian etc would be! This is also the universe where *my* gods are the most known, widely accepted, and worshipped!1

- Apocalypse universe: the universe that’s closest to being like our world buuut if everything went to shit because a war machine ruined it all. I made this universe specifically for Khaos and Tigre lmao

now getting into god stuff!1 my gods exist everywhere all the time in allllll the universes regardless if the people in those universes know of them or not

for example, in serenverse, the gods are mostly seen as mythology (like how we’d view the greek gods) though some people do know of/believe in them! The reason for creatures like incubi and angels existing there is because some of the ones born in the gods realms just migrated down there and reproduced annnd there ya go. the timing of that happening would’ve been like millions of years ago so it’s already kind of a norm in that society I suppose

while in apocalypse verse nooone of that “exists”it’s literally just a parallel of our world

BUT in my favorite universe, fantasy, the gods are veryyyy very real to the people there!1

each of the major gods has their own realm and creatures that they made to inhabit them-

anywhozies all of the gods realms are like their own mini universes where they and their creations live! They’re all unique and kind of like their own little towns and cities in there.. I have pinterest boards for their realm inspo but I don’t feel like getting into ALL THAT

okay okay moving on. Specific ocs of mine were born in those realms, like rouge, and have the ability to traverse between realms and certain universes as they please because of that!

in the case of incubi and angels,, angels are never born on any version of earth! They’re always born in fallon’s realm no matter what, so there isn’t really such a thing as an angel born on earth (same goes for cherubs and fire demons.. basically any other creature that isn’t an incubus)

buuut incubi and succubi, because of their nature, are doing whatever the fuck and reproducing willy nilly wherever. So! There’s terms for incubi/succubi born in keveah’s realm versus earth- which would be

born in keveah’s realm; sin born

born on earth; earth born (self explanatory)

sin born incubi and succubi can go from the god realms to earth (whichever version) as they please but earth born incubi/succubi *can’t* because they were born on earth so they don’t have that power!1 whoopee!!2

annnd unfortunately seren happens to be earth born (he’s literally half human) so he can’t do any of the special stuff like that. Rouge just has like.. multiple clubs spanning keveah’s realm and the serenverse because I thought it would be silly lol

The Puppeteer came before everything in this wretched Universe, bored and lonely he created himself a lover, someone made from the stars above. 

Then he created The Nine, and the Universe came into existence. It was small at first, larger with every new puppet made. 

But there was only ONE true Puppet, his darling, his toy, his everything.

The first of The Nine to appear was Time, made from his sweethearts torso. Of course, being W̯ͤ̾ͣ͝Hͥ̽ͣ̃̔A̷͙ͭͫ̕T̨͈͗̌ͥ T̨͈͗̌ͥHͥ̽ͣ̃̔Ḛͭ̉̇͟Ỵ̛̖͋͢ A̷͙ͭͫ̕R͉̜̎͡͠Ḛͭ̉̇͟, they simply regenerated.

Due to this, Time’s stomach was made from an hourglass. Rumor has it, when it runs out of black sand, either Time will die or the Puppeteer and Puppet will, meaning Pollylon will die with them.

Her chest is made out of the sand that seeps from cracks in the hourglass, created by a being known as Arche, angry at her for killing his Firefly.

Then came Universe, made from the Puppeteer’s spine, made to be everything and nothing all at once. 

The Universe doesn't have a physical body but neither do they not exist. The Universe is both everything and nothing, you and me. 

Then Life and Death, Life created from the Puppeteer’s eyes and Death from the Puppet’s ears, making something so strong costed both their senses that they lost in the creation of them.

Life’s eyes are pure white, and constantly see every life born from human to animal to even a plant, now and in the past, even in the future. He is blind, and also all-seeing.

While Death constantly hears the screams, moans, and sobs of the dead, from now and in the past, future as well. She is deaf, but can also hear a pin drop.

Love came next, created from one side of each of the Puppeteer’s and Puppet’s hearts, but something corrupted Love’s existence, and another of The Nine was created as well; Heartbreak. 

Love’s heart is constantly visible, constantly beating, the skin around their chest gone, it is said with every beat of Love’s heart, a couple falls in love. 

Heartbreak doesn't have a heart, and is said to be constantly searching for one in the bodies of the couples they break up, hoping to find one to fix their own missing heart.

Then Sleep and Dream came along, Sleep made from the left hand of the Puppeteer and Dream from the right hand of the Puppet. 

Sleep’s left hand is a baby blue, melting into their skin, constantly cool to the touch and able to make anyone fall asleep with a single touch. 

Dream’s right hand is a deep purple, but it's ever changing. Dream is neither cruel nor benevolent, able to conjure up Nightmares bad enough to terrify Gods and Dreams happy enough to warm even Heartbreak’s missing heart.

The last and youngest of The Nine was Fate, rather then being created from a part of the Puppeteer or Puppet, the Puppeteer wove his existence like thread into clothing, and he was born with golden stitches.

Fate is clueless and naive, unknowing of the strings of Fate he holds in his hands, similar to the ones attached to his back, able to be pulled every which way by the Puppeteer.

For a long time, the Puppeteer and Puppet watch as their creations create more, more and more Gods are created by The Nine, more worlds, it was amusing. 

The Puppeteer often busied himself learning about the new diseases the humans find, or about the durability and general stuff about humans. They were so interesting...

But very soon, living in the galaxy grew boring. Even if the Puppeteer had his Puppet, they already know everything about each other, have done everything together. 

“Darlingggg...I'm growing bored..” Puppet whined, and Puppeteer sighed, pushing the violet hair out of his lover’s face. 

“I know, pup. Don't worry, we'll think of something.” Puppeteer signed to his lover, kissing Puppet’s forehead. 

They need something new. So, the two draw a character, adding attributes they found attractive. They wouldn't have emotions or a personality at first, but they'd grow their own soon enough. 

It was a bit of trial and error, especially since the Puppet had liked the idea of the new person being made out of porcelain, like a doll. After all, he's a puppet, so why not have a doll too? 

Eventually, YOU came to appear.

Your eyes flutter open, the world around you freezing cold, the air nipping at your already freezing cold skin. 

You can feel heat radiating off something out side the room, but your mind, without any knowledge of what was going on, only knew to follow the heat.

Unsteady, like a doe on ice, you stand from the bed you were on, immediately grabbing onto a wall for support. 

Your eyes scanned the room with precision, the walls were black, and it smelled strange, but even the candles lit in the room couldn't hide the smell of death and rot.

Steadying yourself, using the wall for support you walk out of the room, looking for that warmth— That you step right into. 

“What—? Pup, is that you?” The voice is curious, and slightly hoarse. Maybe he doesn't speak often. You look up, only to find cloudy eyes staring into nothingness. 

You open your mouth to speak, but all that comes out is a pitiful whine. That seems to clue the person in, who's eyes widen slightly. 

“It's you! I thought you were another failure, I suppose not!” Their voice is cheery now, arms instantly wrapping around your body, as if they're trying to squeeze the magic out of you, yet they're also gentle. 

Unknowing of what to do, you simply melt into them, glad for their warmth. As fast as the warmth came, cold followed after. 

“Darling? Is-Is that them?” The new person, who seems freezing cold, if the air around them is anything, asks with a tremble in their voice, the warm person immediately nods, their head turned towards the colder one. 

“It is.” The warm one signed, which it's weird you can understand, but that might be because of the magic they left inside you. 

The warm person unravels themselves from you, and you whine at the loss making the corners of their lips tug up. 

“Apologies, dolly. But we should introduce ourselves, shouldn't we, Pup?” The warm one speaks while also signing towards “Pup”, who nods, walking closer to the warmth, curling around them like a python. 

“Mhm, I guess we should. I'm Puppet, though my darling and you can call me Pup.” Pup speaks, smiling at you. 

“And I'm the Puppeteer, although some seem to call me A̷͙ͭͫ̕R͉̜̎͡͠L̸̖̽̌͂Ḛͭ̉̇͟Q̦̭̀̾͜U̠҉̷̙ͦI̍̅̀̎̊N̺̻̔̆ͅ for some reason...Either is fine for you and Pup to call me, however!” Puppeteer smiles, which only leaves you without a name. 

But neither seem concerned, and instead guide you to the dining room, but the castle you're in...it seems almost...alive. Doors open on their own, books rearranging themselves, rags cleaning the castle. 

You're quickly sat down, Pup on your left and Puppeteer on your right. There's all different types of food on the table, some more enticing then others. 

“Dolly, see anything you like?” Pup asks, and you shrug. I mean, sure some of it looks good, but it's just food. Pup pouts, and grabs a fork, picking up some spaghetti and spoon feeding it to you. 

They practically spoon feed you the entire time, talking and chatting with each other while you listen, before guiding you to their bedroom, where the two sleep together, while you watch curiously. 

That morning, by the time they're awake you've been up all night, watching. 

“Mm, Dolly, did you stay up all night?” Pup yawns, rubbing his eyes as he looks at you. You nod, and Puppeteer frowns. 

“You shouldn't do that.” Puppeteer says, and you tilt your head like a curious puppy, and he points at your chest. “You're not human, of course, but look.”

Puppeteer walks over, taking off the shirt you had been given by Pup, and opens the plate on your chest. 

You glance down curiously, and freeze. In the middle is a two red hearts, beating quietly, stitched together to create one, with strings from each of your limbs, so you can move. 

“You may not die from lack of sleep, but you will grow lethargic. I'd prefer you happy and awake, alright, dolly?” Puppeteer looks up with a look in his eye that leaves no room for discussion, as if it wasn't a question. You nod, somewhat worried of what would happen if you disagreed. 

Very quickly Puppeteer begins teaching you how to speak while Pup teaches you how to write, the two are amazing teachers and with how you were created, you easily learn everything. 

Even though you're still without a personality, soon you'll make one your self, and realize something.

Created from two lovers hearts into a new being. You have no escape, after all, this is their domain, and there is no way to leave them.♥︎

OK GUYS ok. jason is one of those guys who i wasnt aware of until coming back to the fandom. so i will be doing my best with this guy who ive only read his wiki for.

this is just me trying to input him into my lore/au. itd probably have been easier if i figured out LJs place first though... since a lot of the clown-esque guys are grouped together these days... ok whatever dont listen to me

im honestly really confused when going through the wiki and random deviantart posts and trying to understand his lore LOL he used to be human but now he's not human but looks human but isnt described as anything other than creature that looks human ??? IDK

im thinking perhaps he's another sort of mmmm... yet another human-turned-demon, but he kept a human appearance like lulu(minus her eyes), rather than jack or ann. and he was turned well over a century ago, giving him more than enough time to re-enter human society and blend in..

so now he works at an antique toy shop. has a creepy backroom and bunker that he lives and Works in. he went under the radar for a long, long time. maybe he traps souls in dolls and that's where he gets to do his own freaky creepypasta serial killer type stuff ? either tricks already dead souls, or kills people to keep them for himself?

maybe slenderman takes notice of him and decides that trapping ghosts/etc in dolls is a good way to keep them away from the public eye, so he gets the proxies on his case since he's never seen such a thing before.. hmm... yes

completely sane and comprehensive walpurgis rising trailer analysis (+ concept trailer stuff)

from a normal madoka fan who can be trusted with lore

for coherency sake im putting this in sections of this doesn't completely look and read like word vomit, these are just some observations and theories i had about the stuff in the new film trailer

(im so fucking sorry for how long this is)

Homura’s new role

i’ve seen other fans bring this up over the past week so i won’t go fully into detail, but i do agree with the sentiment going around that homura has taken up kyubey’s role as the one who gives out contracts to new magical girls. mainly this part is just to further give evidence to this theory + other observations I noticed in relation to this

while there are some lines of dialogue in the trailer, what’s interesting is we only have 3 speaking voices in the entire film - homura, madoka, and what i believe might be walpurgis themselves (keyword here is might be, but we’ll get to that). focusing on the lines homura however, they sound interesting don't they?

they sound like she’s asking the viewer (possibly even a new magical girl) if they agree to the terms of a deal - a contract.

there is also that unknown new girl where, not only with her outfit having motifs of homura's original design, but in the background of the scene she first appears in, we can see homucifer's symbol appearing as she begins to cast her magic - a way of indicating that homura is giving magic to these girls maybe?

not to mention that the dress homura is wearing in this shot is absolutely emulating walpurgis’s aesthetics, so if homura really is playing villain like she claimed she would be at the end of rebellion to madoka, then taking up the role and dressing up as the 2 things that hurt her the most is a good way to show it

Multi-homu

the devil herself has some very�� inconsistent character designs shown in the trailer - going from having a new dress to completely lighter hair and a new headband in her uniform to even in the POSTER design with a red ribbon similar to the one on her ultimate form

i want to posit this theory; that the homura’s in both the trailer and poster (with the exception of one) aren’t homura at all, or at least not a true homura - they’re her clara dolls

i have good reason to believe this, see, the multiple homura’s we see do have one thing in common with each other despite the differences in their designs (save for the fact they’re all homura) and that is they all share a design with a certain corresponding clara doll

the contractor homura we see at the beginning? she’s the 10th clara doll due to the flower clip and the similar looking shawl this homura wears:

uniform homura? that’s the 2nd clara doll due to the cross pattern found both on homura’s new headband and the nekura’s hat:

ribbon homura from the poster? its a little tricky since we can’t see her front but judging from the ribbon this could either be the 4th clara doll or the 8th clara doll, due to them both having ribbons in their hair design wise.

alternatively, this COULD also be the real homura, but the tell of whether it’s the real homura or not is obscured in the poster for the same reason we’re able to tell which one is the real homura in the trailer

the real homura? it's the one we see sitting in the chair on the school roof, and we know this is her because this is the only homura we saw with her soul gem:

her soul gem being here is important bc from what we can tell, the other copies don't have soul gems on them - for example, contractor homura summons the rotary phone right? if this was the real homura the she would have had her gem visible on her hand AND be able to summon the phone with it instead of using a proxy (the lizard, notice how the magic to summon the phone is also red?)

one more thing that proves this could be what's going on is in the concept trailer, we hear this conversation between 2 girls, and since the clara dolls are technically alive, this could be referring to them pretending to be homura (although i'll admit this could be a stretch)

i assume having multiple homura's is real homura's solution for not only keeping an eye on things, but a way for homura be near madoka 24/7. even if homura is the devil she can’t exactly be everywhere all at once (she only has a piece of the law of the cycles, so unlike godoka her powers are assumingly more limited than we realize),

therefore in my mind her solution then would to put a fake homura in locations that she would be able to keep constant watch over madoka - and with the ones we’ve seen so far; one at the school, and one for her magical girl duties

and why wouldn’t homura do this, after all the real homura is a clara doll herself! she’s canonically the 15th clara doll that’s missing, ai; and if the real homura can be a clara doll, why can’t the clara dolls become homura herself?

The Moon

one of the first shots we see within the trailer is of this room. the first thing that someone will notice is the giant half moon with telescopes embedded into it in the dead centre of the picture.

of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this moon before is it, it's also at the very end of rebellion!

due to the angle of the framed moon, one might assume that the one we see in walpurgis is the missing half of the moon from rebellion, but it's not! the halves are the moon in both walpurgis + rebellion are meant to represent homura and madoka respectively; with homura’s half being the one hanging in the sky and madoka’s half being missing. this can be further proved with further context the moon in walpurgis shows us

i want to talk about the actual frame the moon is being enclosed by. the frame itself isn’t really a frame at all - it’s a tarot card. specifically, it’s the tarot card for The Moon (XVII). not only is it fitting, but it’s also proof that what we are seeing is homura’s half of the moon given the meaning of the tarot itself

while i'm no expert in tarot, from what i’ve read The Moon seems to symbolize bad energy, false friends, deception, and intuition in people’s lives. but this is just the main meaning of the card, for those who don’t know tarot cards can have 2 different meanings. when The Moon is upright it’s a symbol for anxiety, illusion, fear, misconception, etc - basically, negative emotions. when The Moon is reversed however, it becomes a symbol for unveiling secrets, truth, regaining composure, and generally more positive/intuitive things

don’t these descriptions sound familiar? they are meant to represent madoka (reversed) and homura (upright) respectively, and due to the frame being in the upright position, it’s clear that the moon here is actually homura’s

if this is not proof enough, look at the telescopes imbued into the missing half of the half moon. what other character would it be other than homura that would be constantly looking for/at their missing half (madoka)?

(side note: while her half is still missing, those pinned butterflies we see could represent madoka here, as pinned butterflies often represent something that is innocent and fragile when alive being now trapped and dead, but still just as beautiful. great way to present how homura views normal madoka and godoka visually/subtlety)

Voice on the Phone

the trailer has 3 characters who have spoken lines of dialogue; homura, madoka, and a third unknown voice we hear talking to homura over the phone, and i have 2 ideas who this could be

here is the dialogue spoken by the unknown voice in the entire scene (+ one other character but we'll get to that)

(note: the pink line is madoka's line, just highlighted it for clarity)

before i explain who i think it might be i wanted to point out smth, the “it’s a secret/don’t tell anyone” lines might in fact be related to what hitomi of all people says in the concept trailer, the secret obvs being about madoka being a god and if she were to find out, everything would end:

additional context aside, one person i believe to be that voice on the phone is actually walpurgis. after all, the film is named after the stage witch and therefore playing a central part of the film, so them being a character would make sense. walpurgis is also a witch who is implied to be made up of other witches, so having multiple voices would make sense as well

as for the dialogue, it’s clear that it’s asking for homura to set madoka free so she can bring hope again. considering the end of the original series and how madoka brought hope for all magical girls who despaired and became witches (esp if they were the witches who became part of walpurgis by the end), it would absolutely want madoka to come back and bring them hope again. she was their salvation (just hope), their “best friend” who they don’t really know (madoka disappears due to her wish) but know they love - exactly why it’s able to call homura out on her hypocrisy of her doing this all for madoka in the first place. plus the trailer shows shots of walpurgis from the original show during this scene so it could be the trailer’s way of showing not telling who’s on the other side of the phone

as for the second person, you're gonna have to hear me out on this one; i believe there is a strong chance that the person on the other end of the phone is actually godoka - or to be specific, what's left of the law of the cycles (LoC)

remember, madoka split into 2 pieces; the piece that homura stole for herself - the human girl known as ‘madoka’, and the law of the cycles (godoka). if one piece is being under constant surveillance, where is the final piece? also crucial to point out that despite madoka being “normal” again and homura in charge, madoka’s wish is still in effect. this is both proven at the end of rebellion, the concept trailer, AND the new trailer - and the how is simple; the magical girls are still fighting wraiths, meaning the witches are still gone!

in rebellion homura states she still needs to deal with the wraiths, in concept trailer we see oktavia fighting a wraith + concept art for one, and in walpurgis we see the word wraith what im assuming to be a per-transformation scene (we'll get to that soon):

going back to the dialogue, it also would make sense this is LoC calling homura out to free her other half. Loc is like a cog in the machine without her human half, she only knows her job is to bring hope (just hope) but lacks the humanity to understand everything else, which would leave her without her emotions (something essential to magical girls) and sort of… monotone, perhaps even something like the voice speaking on the phone. without her humanity, LoC wouldn’t know who homura actually is (magical girl i don’t know), but she might retain that homura was her best friend that stole her humanity. not to mention madoka herself was also THERE when homura made the claim that she was the devil and doing this out of love for madoka! and call her out for it as well!

and if that still wasn’t enough the ONLY other voice we hear speak in the trailer is madoka herself, and only during this dialogue. at this point there’s enough of her to keep the witches away, but not much else

Unknown Magical Girl

as everyone knows, we see an unknown magical girl (who is wearing an outfit reminiscent of homura's) getting ready to fight something offscreen, and while we don’t get a really good look at her she doesn’t seem like someone we recognize. this is girl is highly likely one of the new magical girls we saw in the concept trailer, and while designs have obviously changed a lot since the trailer came out back in 2015 (and yeah, it WAS that long ago), if i had to take a guess on what concept design she would be, i'd guess this one:

her bangs are the closest to the new girl's hair from what can be seen so currently, she's the most likely contender

another thing to help prove this is a new girl is the shot we see of abandoned shoes on top a building (something that is usually seen as a way to imply suicide in japanese media) and a girl falling off a building into a cloud of pink.. something. im fairly certain what we're looking at is a pre-transformation scene, as:

even though the girl is falling, interestingly enough, if you look at the environment around her the rain has suddenly stopped, as if we’ve frozen time again (more proof for homura being involved with the magical girl process via a contractor this time around?)

is when the text for ‘wraith’ pops up

in a blink and you miss it moment, we see this kanji repeated on screen - and with my shitty transitional skills, the kanji shown here is the one for “who”, as in “who are you?”

pretty close and shut case right? mainly because i'm a contrarian i do want to throw out that this could absolutely be a red herring and this isn't a new girl at all, and actually madoka, but i might actually save that for an entirely separate theory post since it mainly fits into that

Hidden Images

now this is the one that I'm going to sound completely crazy for, which is why i saved it for last, but I fully believe there are hidden images hinting more to stuff that might happen in the film within the credits over the course of the entire trailer

i don't think any of these are new scenes, but just like with the walpurgis/homura part they’re showcasing relevant scenes from the anime/rebellion. But the keyword here is relevant, and it’s VERY interesting if i’m right on the scene they’ve hidden throughout the trailer.

first one is straight forward, there’s a hidden walpurgis in this shot here:

the second one however is way more interesting, as it appears MULTIPLE times throughout the rest of the trailer! once at 0:42, then again at 1:12, and the finally at 1:21 with the title credits. this is the image as i can get it most clearly:

doesn't that look familiar? it should. because this is none other homura than wrapped up in the karmatic strings from the original anime; the same strings that we ALSO see madoka is wrapped in!

of all the scenes to chose, it's fascinating that they choose the karmatic strings where homura specifically (since the girl in the trailer doesn't have madoka's pigtails, so we can conclude it's homura) is wrapped up. in the anime the original context is talking about homura becoming a witch (which shows her turning into a grief seed which is also in the trailer, not adding the screencap tho since its harder to see), and considering the stuff happening in walpurgis this is probably another red flag we're seeing for homura

(side note: im also personally interested for a different reason due to another theory i have related to homura being an anomaly since the end of the og anime like madoka but i haven't written/posted yet but i will someday. probably. bringing it up here tho just in case)

Extra

this is just some extra stuff i noticed that didn't really cleanly fit into a theory:

while im not 100% sure what the object contractor homura is sitting on (i know it's SOMETHING, but i cannot for the life of me remember what it is, looks a little like a mix of a harp and iroha's crossbow ironically tho), what is identifiable are the lights that surround her

specifically, the pink-ish sand we see in the lights is the same sand we see in homura's shield, the same sand she uses to reset time with

and of course the most obvious one, sayaka's new outfit with the bandages is a redesign of her with the mask we see in the concept trailer! shame we can’t have a better look at the original but tbh i like the new one better

(note: i do think the new designs for everyone tie into the previously mentioned theory from the unknown girl section but im putting this one here bc why not lol)
